Jordan wins to face Brewers in semis at 5 p.m.

JORDAN - It will be hometown favorite Jordan to oppose New Ulm at 5 p.m. in one of the state amateur championship semi-final games Saturday. Jordan topped Nisswa 9-2 after New Ulm earlier had clubbed Winsted out of the tournament with a 13-2 seven inning win.

Meanwhile Fergus Falls was playing Sobieski for the right to take on Faribault Lakers, a 9-8 victor over Green Isle Irish in the other semi-final bracket match up.

Tournament batting stats posted on the link below put five Brewers in the top 11 hitters with Brady Ranweiler leading the way with eight hits in 13 at bats for a .615 average. Aaron faff also had a tournament leading eight hits (15 at bats) while Garrett Fischer and Judd Davis each were 6 for 13. Landon Rewitzer also was in the group of leaders with a limited amount of appearances.
New Ulm Kaiserhoff team winning the Class B championship 35 years ago. The New Ulm Brewers were the state's Class A champions in 1941 and 1943 and AA runnerups in 1947.
