Hanska baseball history expands

Historic information and photographic images regarding the baseball lore for Hanska is now quickly building up quite a file on Sports Central.
The information comes

predominantly from material gathered by Glen Lee and Sharon Anderson for the baseball reunion held during Hanska's Centennial several years ago. There are an estimated 200 photos and copies of newspaper clippings of Hanska's great amateur town ball days in the 1950's.
Hanska is one of the smaller communities in the immediate New Ulm area to be included in the "prime" territory served by NUSC. That area was defined as belonging within or attached to the boundry lines of the New Ulm public school district.
It remains the focus of NUSC. However, athletic archiving is also done for the greater New Ulm area.
Other"small district" localities included are Courtland, Searles, Cambria, Essig, Klossner ,St. George and Lafayette. At times they get stretched to bring information from towns like Gibbon,Fairfax, Winthrop, Sleepy Eye and Springfield and others.
Another 500 items from the 75th Johnson Park anniversary are waiting to be uploaded to the website as tne numbers of artifacts have passed 4,000 and website images now are over 1,500.
