New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

Once again Creighton Preps from Omaha reign as the champions of the Upper Midwest Classic, winning it's second in a row. Three years ago it lost the title game to New Ulm in a miraculous two-out last inning rally. Before that it has won the most titles in the nearly four decades of the old "Firecracker" tournament and the Classic.

In Sunday's first semi final game it beat Waconia 6-0 while Chaska eliminated Eastview, another perennial contender, 6-1. Creighton beati Chaska 6-3 in the title game.
