BULLHEADS WIN SIXTH STRAIGHT, 3RD SHUTOUT

GAYLORD - Hanska Bullhead pitchers Dave Fauth and Kyle Messner shut down Lions Tap to defeat Eden Prairie 4-0 Friday June 12th. It was the sixth straight win for the Bulldogs and the third consecutive shutout for its pitchers, running the string of scoreless innings to 18 going back to the Vesli game. The two teams met here for a River Valley Conference game.
Fauth allowed just four hits in six innings, fanning nine. Messner worked the final frame with one strikeout and was aided by a game ending double-play. Tim Steinbach, Messner, and Doug Ekstrom led Hanska with two hits apiece. A Mike Marquardt single drove in the final Bullhead run following a Messner double to lead off the sixth.
After traveling to Belle Plaine for a 6 p.m. contest Sunday June 14, the Bullheads will begin a five game home-stand next weekend in Hanska.
