BULLHEADS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

BELLE PLAINE – Tom Steinbach threw a two-hit, six strikeout gem over six innings as Hanska Bullheads topped the Belle Plaine Gray Tigers 6-0 here Sunday night. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Hanska pitchers and seventh straight win. Closer Kyle Messner fanned two and allowed one hit in the seventh.
Hanska jumped off to a 3-0 first-inning lead on an error, two walks to set up a two-run double for Dave Fauth. Another error brought in the third run. Gray’s pitcher Terry Knopp silenced the Bullheads until the sixth when singles by Bruce Jacobs and Messner and a walk again loaded the bases for Fauth who drove in a pair. Dan Erdman’s second hit brought in the final Hanska run.
The Bullheads are 6-0 in MSMABA River Valley Conference play and 7-1 over-all. They will host Bloomington at Hanlin field on Saturday June 20th at 2 p.m. St. Peter and Slayton will at at Hanska's guest opponents on June 21 at 1 and 5 p.m. and will play each other at 3 p.m.
