New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

A 2006 New Ulm Cathedral graduate, Greta Sieve, has been recognized for major early season track achievements at College of St. Catherine. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Sieve of New Ulm.
Greta was named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week after setting a St. Kate's school record in the 5000 meter run at the Hamline Invitational. Sieve's time of 17:49.89 was seven seconds faster than former MIAC champion, and 2004 St. Kate's Hall of Fame inductee, Katie Jorgenson's record which had stood since 1999.
Her run in the 5,000 meter was only the third time she has raced that distance. As a junior Sieve has already set three individual school records and helped establish two relay records.
