NU Players in Big Basedball Night at St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD - Four New Ulm graduates will be involved in a major baseball promotion for the St. Cloud Huskies Monday night during the "Fill Faber Field" game with St. John's University for a 5:30 p.m. start

Garrett and Kyle Fischer are playing for St. Cloud while Drew Pfaff is in the starting lineup for St. Jphn's Zach Hoffmann is a red-shirt freshman for the Huskies. With a strong returning squad, St. Cloud reportedly re-shirted the entire incoming freshman class.

This will be the first match up between both area rivals since the 2007 season. SCSU currently stands at 29-10 overall this season, while the Johnnies are 20-10.

The games will feature various contests, games and prize giveaways between innings. One lucky female fan in attendance will be drawn to win the “Diamond in the Dirt” gift certificate sponsored by Riddle’s Jewelry. All young fans in the stands will be able to run the bases with the Huskies and participate in the Wax Pack Pick Up, sponsored by MC’s Dugout.
As a Youth Baseball Day venue, alll youth players from little league to high school will be admitted for only $1.00. Admission for adults is $6.00.

Monday night’s event will also be the Military and Veterans Appreciation Day. The St. Cloud State ROTC chapter will be in attendance handing out free t-shirts and presenting the colors during the National Anthem prior to the game. Any current or past military person will be admitted free.
