Ubl's new "Glimpse at New Ulm's Past" available; see cover

New Ulm premier historian ElRoy Ubl this week has released 615 pages of new and updated New Ulm history. An initial book signing was held Nov. 1.

The new publication is the newest version to “Historical Notes: A Glimpse at New Ulm’s Past” in which he updates Volumes I and II (of the same title) and adds entirely new information and pictures to an informative and an especially great-read publication.

The new combined and updated book is $25 and $5 for shipping and handling. Personal checks are not accepted. . Cash, USPS money order or cashier’s checks only may be used for payment. Returns are not available for this mint-new publication. Payments for mail order should be sent to Elroy E. Ubl, 510 South State St., New Ulm 56073 including $30.00 payment.

The original rare volumes are no longer available.

Ubl has gathered 1,000 historic photographs, many which are first-time publications including photos of William J. Daley the man who cut the rope in Mankato to hang the 38 Dakota Indians after the 1862 uprising involving New Ulm Dec. 26, 1862.

He also updates answers questions which have been submitted over the years dating back to 1978 when wrote a weekly newspaper history column for the Journal. He also serves as a adviser for the website newulmsportscentral.com which is powered Community Research Technology, Inc.
