Bauer Steps down at Lakeside with 545 Wins

Former Minnesota Valley Lutheran basketball coach Jim Bauer has closed down his head coaching position at Lakeside Lutheran at Lake Mills, WI.

He had reached 545 wins this season, the most won by a basketball coach here and at other high school locations. Bauer was MVL"s first full-time coach for 18 years starring in 1981, then continued his career at Lakeside from 2000 to the present.

This past season his total boy's wins for MVL was surpassed by present coach Craig Morgan who is eight short of the all-time high for only New Ulm basketball of 316. Mary Dangerud who coached at New Ulm Cathedral and Totino Grace also topped 300. Luther boy's coach Harold Kaiser had 299 wins.
