Ness introduced the press (he called it the Z-P to disguise it from other coaches according to Schaper who was a senior at New Ulm High School in 1949 when Ness brought the idea back from a coaching clinic in South Carolina. That was verified 50 years later by Steve who was a son of Ness
Schaper later became sports editor of the New Ulm Journal. He and Morrie had a mutual respect and friendship in those days while Ness was at New Ulm High School. |
