Collection of recollections and baseball statistics for the career of Ken Ahlness from his days at St. James high school through his brief tenure with professional baseball in 1948.
Highlights of this historical biographical material include the entire 1943 Western Minnesota League season with all games and box scores for most, the 1946 Tomahawk League season with Madelia and then 1947 with Hanska and a chance to play in the Minnesota state amateur baseball tournament at Mankato.
Material gathered and organized into the bio by Herb Schaper, one-time sports editor of New Ulm Daily Journal and a fledgling baseball score book keeper in the late 1940's when Ahlness had his prime years which allowed a view of Ken's pitching directly from the dugout. |
