Other Information: This full article regarding baseball great John Donaldson will shortly be reproduced by New Ulm Sports Central. The accompanying image is the first of 12 slides/pages used in a presentation July 9, 2016 by Gorton in Kansas City to a national black baseball conference. Aug. 12, 1914 the great black baseball player Donaldson appeared in New Ulm with the All-Nations team and struck out 21 New Ulm batters playing for the Athletics team of that era. Donaldson won 399 games in his career and is the subject of a major effort Pete Gorton to have him recognized into the baseball Hall of Fame. He played much of his baseball with and against Minnesota teams. An extensive article in the New Ulm Review reported the game.
