PRIOR LAKE STOPS BULLHEADS 3-0 SUNDAY

PRIOR LAKE - The Prior Lake Mariners defeated the Hanska Bullheads 3-0 here Sunday. Whenever the Hanska hitters seemed to have a rally going, Mariners' winning pitcher Jim Manfred was able to get a ground ball or line drive hit right at his defense for the big out. The game even ended that way. With the bases loaded and 2 out, Tom Steinbach smashed a line drive to Mariners 3rd baseman Joe Schutz. A few feet higher or down the line, and the game would have been tied at 3-3.
Kevin Hulke was the tough luck losing pitcher for Hanska. He threw the complete game, allowing just two earned runs on five hits. The Bullheads actually out hit Prior Lake 8-5 with Brian Sieve going 3 for 3 and Hulke 2 for 3 in the contest.
Hanska is 11-2 in the MSMABA River Valley Conference and 13-5 over-all. Bullheads play at New Hope next Sunday in a league match-up with the Bandits at 3 p.m.
