WANNA SEE THE AMERICAN LEGION BOX SCORES?

During last week's American Legion baseball game, the official involved in creating stats for the Legion worked from the press box upstairs and entered the actions of the game as it progressed. Shortly after it was completed, the entire box score and game inning by inning recap was completed and printed out in the headquarters trailer.

A laptop was used along with wireless networking installed by the progressive local Legion committee who provided much appreciated communications.

The box scores of the New Ulm games will remain in the system and can be readily viewed in their entire format by going through this site. Simply click on "Legion Tournament" above and then go to the scores and schedules listing. Each game has a date in the first column. When you click on that you get the complete box score of that particular game. So each of the 30 games has the same material. It'd take a spell this coming winter to go through those.

New Ulm Sports Central strongly encourages scholastic and town team baseball to get into electronic scoring and is considering hosting a trade show of the many devices available and instituting a seminar on proper baseball scoring. Probably something we can think about for very early next spring?
