New Ulm Wins Tomahawk Title; Playoff Pairings Announced

New Ulm has won outright the Tomahawk East League 2014 season championship based wotj a Sunday 3-1 win over Lamberton. The win advances New Ulm to an automatic berth in the Region 2C tournament.

Tomahawk East playoff pairings for games Friday July 25 through Tuesday July 29 have been been announced with a best two of three opening round. Games Friday include Gibbon at Lamberton, Leavenworth at Hanska, St. James at Stark, Essig at Sleepy Eye and Searles at Springfield All are night games.

Sunday afternoon games at 2 p.m. are Lamberton at Gibbon, Sleepy Eye at Essig and Hanska at Leavenworth (originally a 7:30 schedule) with night games finding Stark at St. James an Springfield at Searles. Third games if necessary, all at 8 p.m. are Tuesday July 29 to determine playoff entrants in the Region 2C tournament. The six survivors will send three teams to the state tournament at Belle Plaine and Jordan.
