Tyler Mack goes for second national ATV racing title this weekend

New Ulm's Tyler Mack will be after his second national championship in ATV racing this weekend in Tennessee, the final outcome probably depends on two race finishes. The weekend's results may be viewed live on this website: http://atvmotocross.com/ The site will report live results.

If he gets 1st

place overall for the weekend's races Saturday and Sunday, he will likely gain the National Championship.. He is the son of Rusty & Lisa Mack.

He raced nationally in 2009 and was the winner in 2010 in a younger age class.

Tyler climbed back into contention in Michigan recently to up his season total to 187 points, eight behind the leader. Both have won four of the season's eight events. However, the leader was second three other times while Tyler had but one and was third twice.

He is the son of Rusty and Lisa Mack and has been racing ATVs since he was eight and has one more year remaining in this age classification for youngsters 14-17.

The event is on a famous country singer's ranch and is the oldest race on the ATV national circuit. It draws a lot of riders. And yes, the property is owned by the world famous Coal Miner's Daughter, Loretta Lynn. If she's not on tour somewhere, she may even come over and say 'Hi' to the racers!

Riders must be in shape for this one - the heat and humidity indigenous to this area can sap your strength.

The national-level motocross track is the same famed course that hosts the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships for bikes the previous week, as well as a spring GNCC round. The facility only hosts three races a year, including the AMA ATV Motocross Championship.
