New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

MANKATO - New Ulm Cathedral won its way back to the state high school baseball tournament for Class A teams here Thursday, June 4. The Greyhounds won the Section 2A double elimination tournament by beating Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 13-1 in five innings of the championship game. Earlier Thursday Sleepy Eye came out of the loser's bracket to beat the 'Hounds 11-10 in a game which featured 26 hits. Cathedral now plays the 4A winner in the 10 a.m. game Thursday, June 11 at Jordan. Game details reported in Friday, June 5, 2009 New Ulm Journal.
