ESSIG - Essig topped Redwood Falls in a suspended game from July 19 but then ran into hot bats from New Ulm and lost its season finale 13-7. The results gave Essig a 12-12 season record.

This was a wild one from the start. Resuming play in the top of the 14th after a one-week delay with the score tied at 8, Redwood Falls scored 3 runs in the top of the 14th on a solo HR by Jason Jacobson and a two-run HR off the bat of Elliot Serbus three batters later to take a 11-8 lead into the bottom of the 14th. Essig countered in the bottom with a lead off single by Drew Wenninger, a walk to Ryan Weier, another single by Larry Haala to load the bases, and then a three-run triple by Dusty Fleck tied the score at 11. After a strikeout, Mitch Stueber hit an infield single to score Fleck with the winning run.
Kyle Helget had four hits for the winners while Fleck and Stueber each had three and batted in five runs between them. Paul Panitzke had five hits. Jason Jacobson had four including four RBI and a solo home run in the 14th. Josh Junker was 3-8 with a double

All nine Brewer hitters had at least one hit—four had three hits AND four others had two. Getting three were Jordan Trullinger, Landon Rewitzer with a triple and three RBI, Zach More with three RBI and Brock Sieve with two RBI.
For Essig Dusty Fleck went 3-4 with an RBI;Mitch Stueber batted in five runs, three with a double; Terry Helget had 2-3 with three walks; and Adam Prochniak and Ty Seller each had a pair.
Andy Irlbeck got the win and David Krzmarzick was charged with the loss, both in relief.
