Tomahawk League East officials have announced first Region 2C playoff games for this weekend and the draft choices made by the six remaining teams.
Opening games Saturday are scheduled with #6 seed Essig at #1 Hanska, 8:30; #5 St. James at #2 Lamberton, 2 p.m. and #4 Sleepy Eye at #3 Stark, 8 p.m. All six teams will play again Sunday but the times and sites will not be known until after the Saturday games. Home teams Sunday will be those who did not have a home game Saturday. A higher seed would get the home game if teams without home games are scheduled against each other. The playoff scenario after the opening weekend will be determined later.
Eventually two teams will fast forward to the state amateur tournament.
The draft choices announced include:
HANSKA - Kyle E. Fischer and Wade French, New Ulm Brewers.
LAMBERTON - Matt Johnson and Mike Anderson, Searles Grisslies.
STARK - Andy Cook and Briar Braulick, Leavenworth Orioles.
SLEEPY EYE - Adam Heiling and Brandon Heiling, Redwood Falls Redbirds.
ST. JAMES - Jon Cook, Leavenworth Orioles and Jake Miesen, Springfield Tigers.
ESSIG - Kyle M. Fischer and Frank Forstner, Searles Grizzlies.
