Essig and Hanska moved on in the Region 2C playoffs. Dusty Fleck twirled a sparkling 3-0 Essig win over Stark at New Ulm Wednesday night. The loss ended Stark's season. Essig's win sets up a Friday night game with Hanska at Hanska. Hanska edged Sleepy Eye 6-4 also Wednesday night.

The Essig-Hanska winner is assured of a spot in the state amateur baseball playoffs and will meet Lamberton Saturday night to determine which of the finalists will be regional champion and go into the state tournament as the No. 1 and No. 2 representatives.
