HANSKA - Lamberton earned the Region 2C baseball championship with an 8-5 win over Hanska here Saturday night. Hanska will also go to the state tournament as the regional runner-up but must face an undetermined regional champion. Both teams will play Region 9B opponents. Pat Johnson, draftee from Searles, held Hanska to six hits until the eighth inning and had a 5-0 lead before Micade Thorson hammered one over the left-field fence in the seventh. Down by 8-1, Hanska brought in three runners in the eighth and one more in the ninth.

Mike Suesz had two singles, one driving in two runs in the eighth. For Lamberton, Colby Pack and Matt and Mike Samym each had a pair of hits.
