BULLHEADS MOVE ON TO SEMI-FINALS WITH 14-0 WIN

UNION HILL - The Hanska Bullheads sent 11 hitters to the plate scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning, and then cruised to a 14-0 five-inning win over Eden Prairie Lions Tap in the second round of the MSMABA state tournament Sunday evening in Union Hill.
Todd Olson, John Giefer, and Dave Fauth had two-hit games for Hanska. Fauth's lead off home run in the second inning put Bullheads ahead 7-0. After scoring three in the third on a couple of walks, an error, and a Brian Sieve double, Giefer capped off the scoring with a 4th inning grand slam homer.
Fauth was the winning pitcher, going four innings and allowing just 2 hits. Kyle Messner threw the final frame allowing a hit and striking out two in the 10-run rule shortened contest.
The Bullheads advance to play the fourth seeded Prior Lake Mudhens Saturday at 7 p.m. at Belle Plaine. Prior Lake defeated #5 Edina Braemar Sunday. The AA finals will be played on Sunday, Aug. 30.
