File 14.23.30.67
JORDAN-Hanska Bullheads had to settle for runner-up in the MSMABA (35 and older) state championship with a 5-0 loss to St. Peter here Sunday evening. The Bullheads won the 10-team River Valley Conference Blue Division (13-2) and finished 18-6 over all.

Sunday's Saints pitcher Tom Stierlen allowed just three Hanska hits: doubles by Mike Marquardt and Kyle Messner, and a John Giefer single. Stierlen fanned four, walked three, and hit a batter in the seven-inning shutout. Losing pitcher Dave Fauth gave up seven timely St. Peter hits, struck out 10, and walked four.

The Saints got big hits in each of their three scoring innings. Eache Hanska rally started was thwarted by a line drive out, or a double play ball. The Saints played an error-less game defensively. Clean-up hitter Matt Bishop, drove in three runs.
