LAMBERTON BOWS OUT; HANSKA LOSES, TOO

ARLINGTON -- Hanska dropped from the unbeaten ranks and fell into the loser's bracket Friday night while fellow Tomahawk East representative Lamberton was eliminated as the Minnesota state amateur baseball tournament opened it's championship weekend.

Hanska plays St. Martin at 1 p.m. today in the loser's bracket and must win or be eliminated. With one loss, Hanska will drop out whenever the second defeat occurs.

St. Martin scored a run on a squeeze play in the 13th inning to finally edge Lamberton. St. Martin had taken a three-run lead in the first, then moved ahead again at 4-3 before Lamberton scored in the top of the ninth to send the game into extra innings.
Cannon Falls broke open a scoreless tie in the fifth and added another in the eighth before Hanska got on the board with a late inning run.
