HANSKA WINS 2-1, STAYS ALIVE IN LOSER'S BRACKET

ARLINGTON - Landon Rathmann's solo home run gave Hanska a 2-1 win over St. Martin and advanced the Lakers in the loser's bracket fo the state amateur baseball tournament here Saturday. Hanska now will meet Winsted at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Draftee Kyle Fischer (New Ulm Brewers) went the distance for the win, granting only four singles, stirking out seven and walking one. He also batted in the first Hanska run in the fourth, driving in Chris Peters whose singles was one of two hits for him in the game.
In Saturday's Class C games St. Cloud Orthopedic edged Cannon Falls 2-0 and Winsted topped Blue Earth 2-1.

Today in Class B at Gaylord, Sauk Rapids plays Hastings at 1 p.m. with the winner going against Prior Lake. In Class C, the Hanska/Winsted winner goes against Cannon Falls at 3:30 at Arlington. Championship gameswill be played Monday.
