Former New Ulm student Ryan Kolander caught three touchdown passes in the first half and one in the second, three from Greg Holzhueter as Martin Luther College stormed over Maranatha Bible College of Watertown, WI Saturday 44-0. Ryan is the son of Rev. and Mrs. David Kolander who was pastor at St. John's church in New Ulm for many years. Holzhueter of Mankato played football for Minnesota Valley Lutheran. Kolander attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee when his father took a call to a Brookfield congregation.
The Holzheuter to Kolander's passes went for 7, 8, and 16 yards while the fourth went for 26 from Landon Zacharyasz. MLC scored 30 points in the first quarter in its inauguaral game and added single touchdowns in the second and fourth periods.
