New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

GAYLORD-- Three Hanska Lakers were named to the 2009 Class C all-tournament team at the conclusion of the state tournament at Gaylord. Named to the squad were catcher Chris Peters, shortstop Dustin Wilfahrt and Stark draftee Josh Hadley. Derrick Jenniges of Lamberton was chosen.

Scott Geiger was the Class C MVP He was 6-17 (.353) at the plate, scoring eight runs and had an on base average of .593. He was 3-0 on the mound with 24 innings pitched. He allowed three runs (all earned), 11 hits, four walks, had 28 strike outs and a 1.12 ERA. His opponents hit only .131.

Cannon Falls was awarded the J. M. Brennan Sportsmanship Award.
