FAST START KEYS MLC 54-14 WIN OVER TRINITY

NEW ULM, Minn. – The MLC football team scored 47 points in the first half as it cruised to a 54-14 win over
Trinity Bible College Saturday afternoon at MLC.
The Knights took control from the start, as running back Alexander Hunt threw a touchdown pass to Ryan
Kolander on the first play of the game off a trick play to give the Knights the early 7-0 lead.
Two minutes later, quarterback Greg Holzhueter got into the act with a 19-yard scoring strike to a diving Kyle
Bence to give them 13-0 lead.
After a three-yard touchdown run by Aaron Voss later in the first quarter, Kolander scored his second touchdown
of the game on a nine-yard fade pass from Holzhueter to push the lead to 27-0.
After scoring runs by Caleb Dietrich and Holzhueter, the Knights capped off their impressive first half with a 48-
yard touchdown pass from Bence to Justin Eternick, the first such touchdown for either player, to go into the half
with a 47-0 lead.
For the game, the Knights finished with a 445-235 edge in total offense, and had four different runners score
touchdowns, to go along with three different players throw a touchdown pass.
Voss led the ground attack with 103 yards on nine carries, while Dietrich added 81 yards. For the game, the Knights
finished with 313 yards rushing. Holzhueter finished with 95 yards passing with two scores and an interception, as
well as 55 yards rushing, while Kolander led the receivers with 87 yards on four catches and two scores.
With the win, the Knights improved to 2-2, while Trinity fell to 0-5 with the loss.
MLC will return to action next weekend (Oct. 3), when they begin the UMAC slate against UM-Morris at home.
The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
