MVL Setter Miranda Maasz Is Our KEYC Girls Prep Athlete of the Week this Week...
"Last week we honored a standout tennis player and this week we head indoors to recognize a star setter on the volleyball court. News 12 sports Eric Gullickson tells us why Minnesota Valley Lutheran's Miranda Maasz (MAHZ) is this week's KEYC Girls Prep Athlete of the Week.Miranda Maasz is hit number two, of the three touches the Chargers get, every time they return the ball. She's MVL's setter, and a solid one at that. Maasz had around 350 set assists coming into the week, averaging 7.4 per set and she says she's hoping to keep her hitters happy the rest of this year and throughout her senior season next fall. Maasz continued to set up her spikers over the weekend, amassing 106 set assists in 5 matches. For those keeping score at home that's 21 per match. Her coach says its Miranda's work ethic that has helped her become a leader on her MVL squad. With Maasz setting the path this young MVL team will be a tough opponent come section time and will look to be even more dangerous in the fall of 2010. Congratulations to Miranda Maasz our Prep Athlete of the Week.In New Ulm, Eric Gullickson, News 12 Sports."
