ST. PAUL, Minn. – Two MLC football players received Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for their roles in the Knights’ upset win over Northwestern Saturday. Chuqee Fletcher was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Justin Eternick won Special Teams Player of the Week.
Fletcher helped lead the MLC defensive charge that held Northwestern to just seven points and 278 yards of
offense for the game. He had seven tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and also forced two
intentional grounding penalties with heat on the Eagle quarterback.
Eternick won the award for the second time in three weeks after punting four times for an average of 31 yards,
which was hurt by an 11-yard effort in his first punt of the day. He put his last three inside the 20, however,
including backing the Eagles up to their own four-yard-line to set up the game-winning safety by the MLC defense.
