MLC ROLLS OVER CROWN 53-35 SATURDAY

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – After the defense keyed an upset win over Northwestern last week, the offense
exploded for 655 yards of total offense in MLC’s 53-35 win at Crown Saturday.
Quarterback Greg Holzhueter finished the day with 320 yards of total offense, passing for 224 yards (and
completing 10 of his 12 attempts) for four touchdowns while running for 96 yards on 14 attempts.
Holzhueter’s main target on the day was Ryan Kolander, who finished with six receptions for 166 yards and three
touchdowns, two of which went for more than 50 yards. Alexander Hunt also played a big role in the passing game
with five catches for 117 yards a score.
The Knights’ runners also ran the ball effectively. Aaron Voss finished with 15 carries for 153 yards and a touchdown to open the game. Andrew Becker had 16 carries for 97 yards and three scores.
Crown answered MLC’s scoring drive to start the game (and subsequent two-point conversion) with a score of their
own at the end of the first quarter to cut the MLC lead to 8-7, but the Knights dominated the second quarter,
scoring three unanswered touchdowns before a late Crown score put the MLC lead at 28-14 going into the half.
MLC opened the third quarter with two straight scoring drives to push the lead to 40-14.
After the Storm scored twice to cut the lead to 40-28 early in the fourth quarter, the Knights quickly responded with
a 59-yard strike to Kolander to give them a three-score lead once again, and tacked on an insurance score shortly
after on a three-yard touchdown run from Becker.
Defensively, the Knights slowed the strong Crown offense, holding them to 365 yards of total offense and forcing
two turnovers. Luke Beilke led all defenders with 11 tackles on the day, while Joe Lindloff intercepted his third pass
of the season and also added eight tackles and a tackle for loss. Jacob Rothe finished with a sack, a pass break-up
and a fumble recovery.
The Knights improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the UMAC.
The Knights ar at Macalester next Saturday (Oct. 24) at 1 p.m.
