Sleepy Eye St. Mary's, LeCenter and Cedar Mountain/Comfrey advanced to Thursday's first-round action in the North Section volleyball tournament by winning play-in games Monday.

Cathedral was ousted by Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 3-2 losing sets 23-25, 25-20, 25-28, 20-25 5-15. The St. Mary's Knights will play CFW at Winthrop Thursday. LeCenter topped Cleveland 3-1 on scores of 25-19, 25-18, 23-25 and 25-11 and will be at Minnesota Valley Lutheran in another first round game Thursday night. Cedar Mountain/Comfrey disposed of Sleepy Eye 3-1 by 25-21, 25-22, 8-25 and 25-12.
