New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

New Ulm was down to one high school football team today after Tuesday night sectional playoffs. Martin Luther College is still participating also.

New Ulm Cathedral rolled to a 59-6 win over Granada-Huntley-East Chain-Martin Luther 59-6 to continue its undefeated season. Minnesota Valley Lutheran end its season with four wins and five losses in dropping its game to Windom 15-12. As expected, Hutchinson pulverized the under-manned New Ulm High School team 55-13 in the wake of the suspension of students and 10 starters because of the volleyball match incident. Coach Rob Bute told the Journal "I don't think that I've been more proud of the effort they had all night" in reference to the team's play, particularly the remaining seniors.
