WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Wisconsin Lutheran High School of Milwaukee was the runner-up in the Wisconsin High School girl's cross country championships here Saturday. Pewaukee won the title. For Wisco it was the school's second runner-up honors in the last three years, finishing third last year and fifth four years ago in the Division 2 Girl's meet.
Coach is Martin Luther College graduate Blair Schaper of New Ulm.
Nearly 900 runners competed on a cold, blustery day for honors in the boy's and girl's divisions. Almost 1,000 fans and runners of the two champion schools in each division attended the award ceremony at the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School gym.
