New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

Former Minnesota Valley Lutheran Coach Jim Bauer was one of the recipients of the Spirit of MVL award Saturday night at the annual presentation. Here Jim on the left shares a laugh with Gene Rodewald of New Ulm who also received the award.

A third award was granted to the late Marvin and Loraine Henning of Morgan.

All were honored for their contributions to the development of the area Lutheran high school. Bauer coached 17 years with great success. Rodewald was chairman of the study committee to start the school and continued on in many capacities thereafter. In their lifetime, the Hennings were benefactors to Christian education.
