EAGLES' ZACH QUIRING 29TH THOUSAND POINTER

New Ulm High School senior forward Zach Quiring became the 29th member of the "One Grand Cager " Club Thursday night in the Eagles' 66-62 win over Sibley East. No details regarding his points to-date were included in the New Ulm Journal article which mentioned he reached 1,000 on a three-pointer.

Quiring is the 29th New Ulm high school basketball player to score 1,000 points, the 16th boy (third fpr NUHS) and the fourth player from New Ulm High School. Others include Kayla Altmann with 1,250 last year as the school's all-time scoring leader, Luke Schmidt 1,211 in 1955, Scott Hanson 1,093 in 1968. The all-time city leader now is Galen Holzhueter who is seven shy of being the only New Ulm player scoring 2,000 in a career.
