NEW ULM FALLS TO 2ND; CATHEDRAL STAYS #1

This week's "Let's Play Baseball" poll distributed by the Associated Press saw New Ulm drop out of first place for the first time in three weeks, slipping to second with St. Cloud Cathedral getting eight of the 10 first place votes (New Ulm had two). New Ulm Cathedral continued the Class A leader by garnering all 10 first place votes.

In New Ulm's class were Cloquet in 11th, Fairmont 14 and other sectional opponents Worthington 18th and Marshall 19th. New Ulm lost to Cloquet last week at Princeton.

St. Cloud Cathedral won its first 12 games, lost to Ricori and is now 13-1 heading into a game Tuesday with New London-Spicer. It is coached by veteran Bob Karn, premier high school coach and secretary of and member of the Minnesota Amateur baseball Hall of Fame.

Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial is 6th in Class A, Mankato Loyola 18th and Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 20th.
