WINDOM - Slayton pitchers Robert Peterson and Mike Wenninger combined to throw a 2 hit shutout at the Searles Bullheads Sunday afternoon in Windom. Starter Peterson gave up early singles to Dave Fauth and Kevin Hulke throwing the first five innings to record the win. Former New Ulm HS standout Wenninger closed the game out with two perfect innings of relief work to earn the save in the 3-0 Slayton victory.
Bullhead's losing pitcher Hulke allowed three earned runs and eight hits over three innings of work, and Tom Steinbach threw the final three scoreless innings to keep the game close for Searles.
The game featured excellent pitching as well as great defense as neither team committed an error in the contest.
Next action for the Bullheads is Friday evening June 4th as they travel to Gaylord to take on Eden Prairie Lions Tap in a 7:30 contest.
