New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

MANKATO - Cathedral's girl's softball team captured the 2010 Minnesota State softball consolation championship with a 4-1 win over Cherry-Cotton here Friday, June 11.

The Greyhounds did it with only two hits, both coming in the last of the fifth to score all four of its runs. Big blow was a two-run single by Morgan Zollner. The other two runs were scored on errors. Up to that time Cathedral trailed 1-0 by giving up a run in the first inning. Ali Brey got the win in relief.
