New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

New Ulm Cathedral softball coach Bob Mertz received the first ever lifetime achievement award for softball coaching from the Minnesota Twins and Minute Men at an award ceremony Sunday, June 20 at Target Field in Minneapolis. The award was made in cooperation of the state softball coaches.

NUSC appreciates his family provide this photo of Bob accepting the award as he spoke of the great honor he received and for the humility he was accepting the award.

The attachments to be added represent other articles printed as he was notified of the award. The material is also included in the 2010 Cathedral softball summary fund in the Spring '10 Sports menu at the top of the yellow banner. The summary includes almost 40 pages for the season with the award published as a fitting end to the season and the report.
