HULKE PITCHES BULLHEADS OVER LONSDALE 3-1

LONSDALE - Kevin Hulke threw a complete game masterpiece at the Lonsdale Jokers Wednesday evening in Lonsdale pitching a six-hit 3-1 win. Half of the hits came from the first three batters.

Hulke artfully painted the corners at crucial times to escape jams and win the pitcher's duel with Joker ace Steve Ceplecha.. Hegave up two singles and a double to the first three Jokers hitters, but escaped with only one run scoring as two pop-ups and a strikeout followed. It was the first of seven K's in the game for the crafty lefty. Hulke allowed just six hits and no free-passes in the contest.

The Bullheads scored on consecutive singles by Doug Eckstrom, John Giefer, and Tom Steinbach to lead off the third inning. Marc Max's 2-out single drove in the 2nd run. Bruce Jacobs scored a big insurance run in the 4th as he walked, went to 2nd when Giefer was hit by a Ceplecha pitch, took third on a ball that bounced away from the catcher, and scored on a Steinbach infield hit.

Max and Steinbach each had two hits to lead the eight-hit Searles attack.

Lonsdale is a first year MSMABA team with an average age of just 36-37 years old and a very promising future in the league.
The Bullheads travel to Loretto Saturday June 26th to play the Miesville Groupers and the Minnetonka Lakers in their annual "Fishbowl" tournament with games at 1:30 and 4:00.
