Despite two days of havoc from the weather, the 2010 Junior Upper Midwest Classic goes into the Final Four championship games Sunday at Johnson Park in New Ulm.

Crighton played Mapple Grove, B runnerup at 9 a.m. Sunday while Sleepy Eye faces A runnerup Tonka AMudhens at noon. The two survivors settle the championship at 2:30 p.m.

Sleepy Eye advanced to the Final Four with a 12-2 win over Mankato Saturday afternoon.

Maple Grove, with an 18-4 win over New Ulm Gold, earned the second place spot for Pool B and will play the winner of the Pool A rounds.

With a shortened schedule, the teams were involved with a three-game schedule instead of the normal four.

Six games were eliminated from the schedule to allow the first round to be completed to provide a fair balance to the decision of which teams advance to the finals. Since all teams didn't play every club in the pool, how they did against those they do play had a bearing on the final pairings.

Creighton has fashioned wins over Osseo and Hutchinson and Tonka Mudhens. Maple Grove drubbed New Ulm VFW Gold 18-4 to advance to the final four.

Sleepy Eye scored wins in the Junior Midwest Classic at New Ulm Thursday and Friday before bad weather washed out the scheduled activity Friday and caused a reshuffling of the schedule with cancellation of six contests.
