NEW ULM --- Las Vegas jumped off to a 11-5 lead over Rochester in the championship game of the Midwest Classic legion tournament concluding Sunday in New Ulm. It garnered the championship by adding runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 14-5 decision.

The long ball staked Vegas to three runs in the first and after Rochester tied it with three in the same inning, Las Vegas got four each in the second and third innings. Rochester did finally blank LV in the fourth and fifth.
