For the first time in five years, the New Ulm Gold American Legion team failed to win more than one game in the prestigious 64-team Gopher Legion classic.

Gold's only win was 12-2 over Rochester Saturday. Sunday New Ulm lost to Fargo 8-7 and Gillette, WY 10-2, the latter going only five innings.
New Ulm's in season tournament record ended with a split of 14 games and the season record fell to 11-10 after the tournament. Season Summary
