BULLHEADS PLAY 'AGREED TO" TIE

Searles Bullhead and visiting Slayton Barnstormers agreed in advance that if their game was tied at the end of regulation seven innings, it would be ended there. That's exactly what happened with a 3-3 tie the result.

Former New Ulmite Mike Wendinger threw the seven inning complete game for the Barnstormers, allowing 11 hits and striking out nine. The Bullhead's Tom Steinbach started on the mound and was relieved by Kyle Messner for the final 3 innings.

Slayton scored twice in the first inning off Steinbach on four hits and a walk, and once in the 4th on two hit batters and a single. Messner fanned six in his three innings of scoreless work for Searles.

Searles scored all three runs in the third on consecutive hits by John Giefer, Scott Schaefer, Dave Fauth, Mike Marquardt, and Steinbach.
