LAMBERTON, SEARLES WIN 14TH IN TOMAHAWK

Patriot division front-runners Lamberton and Searles each won the 14th game of the season while New Ulm's Brewers accomplished 13 in Wednesday night Tomahawk East League baseball activity.

Lamberton bombed St. James 10-0 in seven innings while Searles edged the resurgent Sleepy Eye Indians 5-2. Hanska's 6-5 win over Redwood Falls and Stark's 14-1 7-inning job over Leavenworth set up Saturday's big American division game in Hanska. The Lakers upped their league record to 9-9 and Stark to 9-10 as the two battle for first in that division.

New Ulm topped Springfield 7-2.

With the Patriot title all but wrapped up, Lamberton continues its drive for the No. 1 playoff seed by hosting Springfield Friday evening. Saturday Essig is at Gibbon in a celebration day game.
