LEGION 2ND DISTRICT PAIRINGS ANNOUNCED

Mankato National was granted the top seed for the upcoming District 2 American Legion tournament, but its second team, the American, was dropped from the playoffs because of a roster technicality. Pairings have been provided by Mankato chairman Al Kiefer and will be attached shortly.

The tournament will be a six-team lineup with New Ulm Gold seeded two, Fairmont three, New Ulm Blue fourth, Worthington fifth and Sleepy Eye sixth.

Apparently the Mankato American roster did not reach the state in time as Minnesota Legion this year went totally electronic in all its arrangements.

Mankato National and New Ulm Gold were seeded into the semi finals. At 7 p.m. Wednesday Mankato will play the winner of Wednesday's New Ulm Blue vs Worthington game at 4 p.m. Also at 7 p.m. New Ulm Gold meets the 4 p.m. Fairmont vs Sleepy Eye game. Games are at Franklin Rogers and East High School sites.

Elimination bracket games are Thursday as well as the upper bracket game. Games Friday lead to the Saturday championship contests in the double elimination brackets.
