New Ulm Jr. Legion and Gold won in sub-district baseball playoffs Thursday but New Ulm Blue lost it's first tournament game and dropped into the loser's bracket. Brackets attached

Jr. Legion romped over Wells 24-2 and then edged St. James 10-8 to move to the semi finals and will play Fairmont at 6 p.m. Friday. Fairmont beat Mapleton 13-3 and Blue Earth 4-1 to advance. One survivor can come out of the loser's bracket.

At Dassel New Ulm Gold won over Glencoe 7-1. Glencoe earlier had edged Sleepy Eye 5-3. Gold will square off in the semis with Hutchinson's No. 1 team which blanked Springfield 12-0 and edged host Dassel 4-1. The Gold-Hutchinson game is 4 p.m. Friday. Springfield, Glencoe, Sleepy Eye and Dassel will play loser bracket games early Friday all needing a win to stay alive.

New Ulm Blue VFW Blue was sent to the loser's bracket by Hutchinson II by 11-2 in the Southeast sub-district at Shakopee. Other scores were not available. New Ulm Blue plays at 10 a.m. Friday.
