TOMAHAWK HEADS INTO LAST WEEK

Although some options remain for ties in the division championships of the Tomahawk East League, jockeying for playoff positions remains the main order of business for the final week of the regular season.
Final games are next Sunday (July 25th) but some regularly scheduled and unannounced make-up games remain ahead of the finale. See heading for current standings

Stark should have the American Division top spot set although Gibbon has a mathematical shot. The league leader, Hanska, will play in Class B playoffs. Stark can finish 10-12. Gibbon could end up 11-11 if it swept all four remaining games, two to end the season Saturday and Sunday at home with games against Searles and New Ulm Brewers.

Sleepy Eye could end up with 13 wins to tie the Brewers who only need to win one of two to ensure the top spot in the National.

Searles in the Patriot Division could equal Lamberton's 16 wins if the Long Sox don't win another game.
Lamberton hosts New Ulm Tuesday night and will assure the league's best over-all record with a win over New Ulm. Searles could tie if Lamberton lost all three of its remaining games. The final Sunday includes a Lamberton at Hanska game before last year's two state tournament teams go their separate ways.

The past week's games were highlighted as the proverbial league dorrmat Gibbon Reds underscored a great year with back-to-back home wins over Essig 10-2 and Redwood Falls 10-0.
