The Alexandria VFW 15s baseball team completed their perfect run through the District 5 Tournament last night in Madison with a 6-4 win over Morris. Posted by Alexandria Echo Press website July 16, 2010.

Matt Pilgrim pitched a complete game to pick up the win. He gave up three runs in the first but settled down nicely and allowed just one run through the final six innings. That put the finishing touches on a 4-0 run through the tournament.

The 15s beat Madison 5-2 and the Alexandria 16s 7-6 over the weekend to advance to the district championship.

The 15s will now turn their attention to the state tournament, which is scheduled to run from August 5-8 in Austin.
